Twitterfox: the best Twitter extension for Firefox
If you are a Twitter fanatic then you surely use a special application to write, reply, retweet and see what others are saying. I use Twitterfox, a fantastic extension for Firefox that makes Twitter even easier to use that it normally is. As you might expect it’s a free extension that shows up in the lower right corner of your Firefox browser. Let’s see what it does and why is easier to use than the Twitter online interface.

Posting a tweet with Twitterfox
Twitterfox’s functionality
- displays the number of new tweets from the last update (update interval can be set by the user)
- displays a balloon with new tweets (can be disabled)
- can manage multiple accounts (but only one can be active at a time)
- can update your Twitter status directly from the interface and URL’s are shortened automatically
- can retweet/reply directly from the interface
- displays replies and direct messages addressed to you
- uses sounds for notifications (fortunately this can be disabled)
- uses keyboard shortcuts for fast access to important functions
- can be customized using themes

If you want to give it a try you can install Twitterfox from here. If you know a better extension please feel free to tell me in your comments. I’m looking for something that allows me to be logged into multiple accounts simultaneously, but for now I’ll just use Twitterfox.
