Do fully electric cars have a future?

Electric cars are a hot topic these times when global warming and the financial crisis make people look out for solutions to both problems. The thing is I don’t believe in the future of the fully electric cars. Hybrid are not true economical/ecological cars, as for example the Prius can’t achieve a better mileage than a small petrol engine driven carefully around city, not to mention highway mileage that’s the same as a normal car as at higher speeds the car is powered by the petrol engine.

Now, back to electric cars and why I think they’re not the answer we are all looking for. Let’s see the list of reasons, as I usually write:

battery technology is not developed enough to allow fast charge times at an “electric station”so we’re talking about home recharging – that’s will not happen with people not living in a house with its own back yard and garage
the current used for charging the batteries is produced by using sources of energy that are polluting the atmosphere so alternate fuels are the way to go, like ethanol or hydrogen
by the times battery technology evolves enough (fast recharge + lower prices) hydrogen technology will take over as it’s a more ecological technology
a car that doesn’t sound like a car is not a car, that what petrol heads say. Can you imagine how an electric Ferrari roadster will sound like?

So, what do you think about electric cars, where will them be a few years from now?

2057 Honda 124 unique car concept of the future

If you all love cars as I do then certainly you keep in touch with the industry. Today I’ve seen the amazing 2057 Honda 124 car concept, a blend between public transportation and personal vehicle.

In fact the concept incorporates 4 vehicles, for 4 passengers, that travel together to a certain point, then the four modules split allowing them to “walk” different paths.
